Me

I am a purpose-driven entrepreneur who takes great joy in working with and enabling others to follow their entrepreneurial path.

I have three pillars in my approach to building impact:

  1. I acquire and build purpose-driven and profitable operating businesses.

  2. I actively invest in technology companies with an emphasis on health tech.

  3. I acquire and operate commercial and residential real estate.

My entrepreneurial story began in 2001 when I co-founded Metalogix Software and has spanned enterprise software, healthcare, venture capital, and acquisitions.

Investing

I have been an active angel and venture investor since 2009, my venture investments have included enterprise SaaS, deep tech, health tech, CPG, and retail. I frequently syndicate investments.

In 2023, I began an advisory position with the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation Venture and Growth team, looking at both VC firms and direct investments.

Since 2015, I have served on the Inovia Investment Committee (IC) and have been an LP since 2011 and an active co-investor. I am also an LP in Canadian and US VC funds, including Northleaf Capital, Goldcrest Ventures, and Garage Capital.

Notable investments include:

Family Office

In 2010, after exiting Metalogix, I rejoined our family enterprise building up a portfolio of active operating companies by launching new ventures and via acquisitions. Our operating portfolio of pharmacies and grocery stores has grown from 2 to 10 locations across Vancouver Island and BC. Heart Pharmacy (voted Best Pharmacy in Victoria 5 years running) and Pomme Natural Market (voted Best Specialty Grocery Store for 8 years running) now serve about 70,000 clients and engage in over 700,000 unique client interactions annually.

Operating

As a co-founder of Metalogix Software in 2001, I was part of a leadership team that achieved triple-digit, profitable growth for over a decade. In 2008, Metalogix took investment from Bessemer and Insight Venture Partners, and by 2010, we boasted most of the Fortune 5000 companies as customers. Eventually, after executing a roll-up strategy, Metalogix was acquired by Permira in 2014 and ultimately became a part of Quest Software. Metalogix was a Microsoft software partner specializing in content migration, compliance, and archiving for SharePoint and Exchange.
